We have adopted a new member of the family.
I'm sure I am not the only one in the world with a child so courious. Well we have now offically adopted a SOLDIER. Yep. There is a web site that you go to and you fill out some information and with in a few hours we had a soldier. MJ had so many questions as we paciently waited for a return email for the adoption web site. Like what do the bad guys look like that he is fighting, is the desert hot, are there catus'. She was deep in thought I could tell. So time passed and we needed to go to the teen dance. MJ was meeting her little 6yr old friend Colby there. Yes our little ones are the only ones aloud to attend the dance. Everyone else must be in 6th grade. The first thing she said to Colby was I have a soldier and you don't. Well yes we had a talk and we will be sharing our soldier and we will extend ourselves to the whole platoon. Well when we got back from the dance we checked our mail and we then really had a name... Roel martinez. All I know is that we have a gentleman that is married with 4 kids. Is from Ohio ..Which I'm sure he is probly a Cleveland Brown Fan... We will try to convert him toa steeler fan for sure. Anyway...MJ & my oldest son Brandin gathered items for a care package. They were all told they have to give 1 thing of there own to send. They also gathered some really good things from the house that we extras of...Flavor packets, candy, hot cocoa, toothpaste, axe, floss, lotion, and much more. We will be shipping out a package on Monday. But this is what I am asking from all of my blog readers. ..... Mail a christmas card to my soldiers platoon.....
SPC. Martinez, Roel
SPC. Martinez, Roel

With in the card please put a self addressed envelope. So someone within the platoon can write back to you. I want all of my friends to adopt his entire platoon. I think that they are Medics? And yes Casey & Amber I asked him if he had any single soliders for you guys to pen pal with. But no luck so far. You know I love to pimp you out....Just kidding....

New Leg!
So we went on Friday morning and Dad got fitted for a prosthetic leg. Technology is great! You would not believe it. Dad has already surprised everyone with his mobility with his crutches. When he gets his leg we all better watch out. So they took a mold and they are making a silicone sleeve. It will be ready in a week. We will then get a leg built so he can learn to walk. Yes when the doctor said those 3 words I started crying. " Learn to walk".... What a jolt. We have waited so long for this. I will be taking my video camera so I can send it to my sister. They said he should have his real.. fake leg by mid January it takes time because of insurance. So I will keep you posted....
Pictures above.... no this is not my father... But he really seems hopeful that once he gets a leg he will be unstoppable..(is that even a word)...It is just amazing how people can just bounce right back after getting a prosthetic. Or feel that they can do more then they could before they even lost a limb...Also I was very surprised when we got to the Prose tic Lab. Scott George was the one making them. He has known my husband since they were kids and he went to school with Echo.. It is a small world.

So I can say I really no not ready much. I love to read magzines but not novels. My sister was always the reader. But a few a years ago I read a book called The Lovely Bones. I really enjoyed it. Since I have not really took the time to find a good book. But a friend of mine Casey has been driving me crazy. She comes to visit and hides behind a book. She takes it to play cards, calendar party auctions and even to the Toy Bash. I thought maybe I am just that boring. But no... When she told me it was coming to the movies I told her I would try to find time to read it. Well Friday I took it to dance class and WOW> I read for the whole two hours there then again when I got home. I went to bed and picked it right back up on Saturday. Then finished it on Sunday. Today! I suggest this book to anyone. It is about seniors in high school. Vampires, Love, Hate ...The books are very inexpensive you can get them at walmart for under $10. It comes to theater Nov. 21st. There are 4 books in the series.

No Please, Forgive me for venting......
So I have mentioned the Erik several times in my blog. Erik was or maybe is PJ's best friend. He has been close with him for the past 2 years. He spent holidays and birthdays with us. We even took him on our family camping trip. Our kids loved him. Our oldest always considered him like an older brother. We had some really serious stuff happen a few years back and Erik was Pj's rock. He really felt a connection with him. They would hunt, ride motorcross & simply hang out. Erik reconnected with a girl and they dated for many months. they both would hang out and she even came on or family vacation with us. Not many people their age would want to camp with 5 familys that all together had like 18 kids. And to also sleep in a camper with 3 kids YIKES! Any way they really were great together and the girl would come and hang out here even without him. Then the fairy tale ended. Erik was ready to move on and at his age it is good that he did if he was not sure about the relationship. But it got rocky. He began to date someone else. She also is a great person a good mother and a family friend. We have know her all of her life. But of course it got BAD>. The old girlfriendstill wants to come around. Well We spoke with Erik and he said no worries. She can still come around but I have no desire to talk to her. Well it was fine for about 2 weeks until the new girlfriend did not want him here because the old girlfriend was here. Well it was to late because we enjoyed the old girlfriends company to. Well needless to say Erik is no longer allowed to come over or talk to us. Is that not crazy. If you are dating someone and you do not trust them enough to go some where what does that tell you about your relationship? Well Erik and his new love did break up and where did he come as soon as they did. Here. Well we were very happy to see him..but the break up did not last and we are happy for him that they got back together. We really do just want Erik to be happy. But PJ feelings were hurt even more. How far can your feelings be streched before you just cut all ties? My kids ask about him all the time I tell the little ones that he is working a lot. Brandin is not so easy to satisfy. He sees and understands more. But he misses him too. You would think that we would not be so upset. He really was not family. And he is just a kid. But not our kid. Wow! It still hurts.
So I hope that Erik truely misses all of us. Everyone in the friend network misses him.
For Braxton's birthday I decided we were going to do something special. Just me and the kids. So we went to the Zoo. The Pittsburgh Zoo is great. We were there all day. The inside exibits were nice. It did rain a little. Casey went with me and she really helped me with the kids. They all loved the animals. There was a baby elephant and a baby tiger. So cute. But I think the kids loved the Penguin tank the most. It was like they were putting on a show just for us. They also really enjoyed the fish. We spent a lot of time in the aquarium. The hands on center where you could pet sharks and stingrays was cool. The kids could crawl under the tank and look from the bottom. Also there was a mole or something and you could crawl in tunnels around his cage and pop your head up into see thru bubbles. Yep I squeezed my butt in there. I wanted to see. The kids laughed and luaghed. I was a littlebit nervious that I was going to get stuck. Casey would not get in. Why I'm not sure she is as skinny as a green bean. Maybe next time. We are going to go back in the spring. The Dragon was not there this time and the kids really wanted to see it.
Casey made the kids a cake. They decided to make breakfast early on sunday. They ate the cake. Why didnt they cut a piece form the side that was already cut. Well I asked MJ this and she said that they wanted the cookie thing on top. So instead of picking the candy off the top they cut around it...hahaha

Yes we all love to carve pumpkins. I love to do all that fun stuff with my kids. But I have learned my lesson on how long I can keep their attention. Casey & Devin decided they were going to carve pumpkins with my kids. Well Devin decided he had better things to do. But Casey was there and she got the kids carving kits. Oh my gosh they are sharp little knives. Anyway Braxton was interested until he got the top cut off and I told him he had to dig it out. Yeah right this is the kid who pukes over his own boogers. He was done after that. then MJ she was into it. She has so many holes in her the pumpkin will not stand up. Casey got stuck digging out her and Brandin's pumpkin because playing football outside seemed more intresting to Brandin. CJ James & Matt did not help much. They also played football. So thank you Casey. You are a great help with the kids and they love you to death. The Fab 5 will have her completly trained by time she has kids.
No this is not my hot new boyfriend. This is Michael Buble. I love his music. It gets me away from the crazyness my son listens to. My sister Echo had me listen to it and I loved it. So give him a chance. And once you see his picture you can pretend he is singing to you. Wow that is something. So give him a chance. Check out the link and let it play the whole way thru! And I can not get the blogspot to do what i want to get your directly there so cut and past this link to your bar and please watch.

Braxton turned 5. I was going to have a big party for him but we got so busy. Time was going by so fast I had to take a breath and just have it. I decided to just invite the Fab 5 and their kids. (and a couple other kids from next door). After everyone arrived we then realized. Holy crap the fab 5 have a lot of kids. We have been doing all of these activities together but we never realized how many we actually had until they were all bouncing off of the walls in my living room. We have always been outside. It was a great night we played musical mats and they danced. We sat at kitchen table and shot the shit until after 10pm. I was very happy with just the Fab 5. It worked out well. For those of you who have lots of brother and sisters and do not spend time with them shame shame shame. I am so blessed to now have such a great group of close friends.
I should not lump these pictures together. These were taken on two different days. Two really fun days. The top photo with 5 crazy ladies with wigs on are use on our Halloween camping outing. Lacie hosted the October outing. We all has camp sites for the weekend and we gathered at her camper during the day. We had light parades, played bingo, they had hay rides and a haunted house and crafts and trick or treat. What an awesome weekend. We have already all booked for next year!
The second picture. We all had to have matching shirts. I hosted this event. We all went to Gram Leons. We went to the Tanger Outlet mall in Washington and then we went out for the night. I will post more about this later i need to gather my photos. It was a wonderful weekend. Gram loved the shirts!

This is Devin & Casey. They are so cute. They have recently started dating. I think Devin is a bit scared of her. He is really shy. About 3 months ago I would have said the casey was shy. Now I would have to say not. Her life has really been changing since her previous boyfriend. (Erik who is like a brother to my husband.)So yes we are one big happy family. Yeah! o.k.
PJ & I told Devin we would take some pictures of him. So PJ takes the camera to video. He is FIRED! First he takes a buch of pictures of the ground and of some feet. Then as Devin straps in the bull jumps and PJ is freaked out. Now Devin is the one sitting on the bull and he seems not to care the the Bull is attempting to jump out of the gate with out it open. PJ still tapes saying some really bad words. (The kids can not watch the video or even send it by phone. I would live in fear of getting a telephone call from a parent about the language.) So he tapes and it was a really good ride for Devin. When he is done he was so excited to have it on tape. Well yeah it sounded good you could hear everyone yellig. But watch the video and see PJ got do excited watching he forgot to point the camera at Devin he just tapes the bulls feet. He is no longer aloud to tape any thing important. FIRED!
This is Casey after her shower. Yep she showers. She left her computer here the other day . So I uploaded her pictures. Casey and Devin went to Morgantown to shop. Devin liked Victoria Secret. HA Ha I could not help but to tell all of you that. If you know Devin you are probably on the floor laughing.

Pete is our puppy. I got him for a family pet. My husband got him for a hunting machine. PJ has big plans for this dog. He says OH YES he is a smart dog. BlahBlah BLah. Well I want to ship him out. If he has one more accident in the house I think I might scream. He is so cute when he is sleeping but when he is awake YIKES!
We started the dances at the fire hall again. They have not had them since I was 14. The kids love it. The crowd grows every month. We are up to 30. This month since school is in I am sure there will be more. Yes this Video is horriable. But it is my first and it was so dark. But that is my son second from the right. He loves to dance. (to show of for the girls anyway). I thought I knew the Macara... but not this one. They love to do it this way.
If you are 30 or older you will think this is hilarious!!! When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious diatribes about how hard things were when they were growing up; what with walking twenty-five miles to school every morning ... uphill BOTH ways yadda, yadda, yadda And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way in hell I was going to lay a bunch of crap like that on kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it! But now that... I'm over the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so easy! I mean, compared to my childhood, you live in a damn Utopia! And I hate to say it but you kids today you don't know how good you've got it! I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the damn library and look it up ourselves, in the card catalog!! There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter with a pen! Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week to get there! There were no MP3's or Napsters! You wanted to steal music, you had to hitchhike to the damn record store and shoplift it yourself! Or you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ'd usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up!
We didn't have fancy crap like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it! And we didn't have fancy Caller ID Boxes either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mom, your boss, your bookie, your drug dealer, a collections agent, you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister! We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like 'Space Invaders' and 'asteroids'. Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination!! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen forever! And you could never win. The game just kept getting harder and harder and faster and faster until you died! Just like LIFE! When you went to the movie theater there no such thing as stadium seating! All the seats were the same height! If a tall guy or some old broad with a hat sat in front of you and you couldn't see, you were just screwed! Sure, we had cable television, but back then that was only like 15 channels and there was no on screen menu and no remote control! You had to us e a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! You were screwed when it came to channel surfing! You had to get off your ass and walk over to the TV to change the channel and there was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons, you spoiled little rat-bastards! And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat something up we had to use the stove or go build a fringing fire. imagine that! If we wanted popcorn, we had to use that stupid Jiffy Pop thing and shake it over the stove forever like an idiot. That's exactly what I'm talking about! You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled. You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980! Regards, The over 30 Crowd

So we went to the Lake everyday. The kids played on the fake beach and looked for those special sea shells. ... Yep who would have ever guessed that Tub RUn had sea creatures.. that leave shells. Well OK . I purchase them at the store and our wonderful friend Haley would go down right before us and toss them around everyday. The kids were so excited to find them. The funniest thing was all of the other campers questioning where the kids found seashells at.... One man said to his wife. They do have to buy the sand from somewhere ..they came with it. ..Now that sand has been there for over 10 years and they do not put more every year...DUH! Mommy Island was a hit we would all get on and push ourselves out to the middle of the lake. One adult would say back to monitor the situation at shore ( the kids ). It always seemed to be Gram Lu. There got to be so many Mom's wanting on Mommy Island by the end of the week we had to start hooking the kids spiders to the Island. The last saturday we were there (we stayed 10 days). I ended up on the spider. we were floating for about an hour or so and we were all chatting and laughing....I woke up 6 hours later to Casey saying just unhook her and let her float away.... They let me take a big nap...But sure they never offered me sun block or shade....I was lookin' like a lobster...
Is was a great trip...Casey, Becky & Angie loved the Island.....Going camping and need so ideas...Just ask I bet I could surprise you!
